About the event

Dr Lisa Briggs and Edwin Grant will be coming down to Volusia County, Florida (Daytona Beach) from Western Carolina University to share their wealth of knowledge & experience. You will have 3 days of one of one training in small groups. LOTS of reps, LOTS of quality training in a variety of scenarios.

Class will be limited to 12 working spots ($350) and 6 additional observation spots ($150). Cost to work a 2nd K9 is an additional $200. Prices increase on November 1st (11/01/23) by $100, so working spots will be $450, observation spots $200 and to add an additional K9 will be $250. All fees are non-refundable.

This is an advanced class, K9s must have a solid alert/TFR, have a strong reward stystem in place, have experience hunting and searching for odor in various environments via training and/or deployments. Lunch & water will be provided Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Training will be focused on scenario-based training will include low threshold odor, area, buried, high hide, vehicle, shoreline/shallow water search, and a distraction field and agility course will be available. The majority of the time will be spent on field training, with some time for brief/de-brief and group discussion. We will train rain or shine,.

Dogs with aggression towards other dogs or humans are not permitted, and may be asked to leave the seminar if any issues arise. Dogs must remain leashed at all times except when working witht the trainers.

Dr. Lisa Briggs is an Active Criminologist, Active HRD K9 Handler, Director Emergency and Disaster Management Program, Director WCU HRD K9 Program, NCMEC TAC, SBI HRD Task Force, Department of Homeland Security Reunification Team, etc. Edwin Grant is an active K9 handler/trainer, Retired Game Warden, NCMEC TAC, SBI HRD Task Force, Department of Homeland Security Reunification Team, Necrosearch, Kenyon International member.
